Abbey Hotel in Bath receives four-star AA rating

The 60-bedroom Abbey Hotel in Bath has been awarded a four-star AA rating, four years after Ian and Christa Taylor took ownership.

Since the takeover, a full refurbishment of the hotel has taken place. Mr and Mrs Taylor also opened Allium Restaurant, which holds three AA rosettes, under head chef Chris Staines.

Mr Taylor, owner, said: "We are absolutely delighted to have been awarded this prestigious rating by the AA. It is further proof that we are continuing to hit the right note at the Abbey Hotel in all aspects, including people, service and style. Recognition has to go to my superb team led by the incredibly experienced Andrew Foulkes.'

Abbey Hotel has just unveiled ice bar Igloo, an events space in curved-ceiling vaults underneath the hotel. Igloo will be open to the public on dates throughout December.

Overnight stays at the Abbey Hotel are from £125 per room per night.
