Abingdon town centre hotel for sale at £1.85m

The two-AA-star, 19-bedroom Crown & Thistle hotel in Abingdon, Oxofrdshire, has been put on the market for £1.85m.

Situated in the town centre close to the River Thames, the property is a coaching inn dating back to 1605. An unused and spacious staff flat has the potential to be converted into further letting bedrooms.

Chris Gooch, of Strutt & Parker's leisure and hotels department, which is handling the sale, said the present owner is retiring. "This is an exceptional opportunity to acquire a substantial town centre property and robust trading business which, thanks to the potential to increase the number of letting bedrooms, has a very bright future."
