Accor adds two former Jarvis hotels to Mercure portfolio
Hotel company Accor has added two hotels to its Mercure portfolio, bringing the total of Mercure hotels in the UK to 70.
The company has signed two properties under a franchise agreement with Jupiter Hotels, the new owners of the former Jarvis Hotels group, which collapsed earlier this year.
The new properties are called the Mercure Livingston Hotel and the Mercure Perth Hotel.
The move comes as part of a deal announced last month to rebrand a total of 24 former Jarvis hotels as Mercure after Jarvis Hotels was put into a pre-pack administration and Royal Bank of Scotland took control of the properties.
Jean-Jacques Dessors, chief operating officer of Accor UK and Ireland, said: "The agreement adds to our commitment to building the Mercure hotel brand in the UK. We have added almost 40 hotels to the Mercure franchise in 2011, which has more than doubled its previous footprint."
