Accor announces new signings in Yorkshire
AccorHotels has signed two new Mercure hotels in Yorkshire with five set to open in the county by the first quarter of next year.
The French hotel company announced the signing of the 59-bedroom Mercure Leeds Centre, which is already open, and the 98-bedroom Mercure Tankersley Manor, due to open next year.
The group's 49-bedroom MGallery York and 114-bedroom Mercure Kenwood Hall are undergoing extensive renovations and the 125-bedroom Ibis Budget Sheffield is under construction, with all three set to open this year.
The five new hotels are to be opened with different management and franchise partners.
Philip Lassman, vice president development, AccorHotels UK and Ireland, said: "Our franchise and management partners are finding the variety and flexibility of our brands appealing."
Thomas Dubaere, chief operating officer of Northern Europe, AccorHotels, said: "Yorkshire is a diverse region attracting business and leisure guests who have different requirements, which is why it is so strategically important that we are able to offer a wide range of brands to cater for the differing guest needs from luxury and midscale to economy and budget."
