Accor opens its 400th Etap hotel in Europe

Etap Hotel, the budget brand from Accor, has opened its 400th hotel in Europe, in Verdun, France.

The 70-bedroom hotel features the Etap's new Concoon concept, launched earlier this year and already introduced into 30 hotels.

New features include a soft duvet, touch-sensitive reading lights, spacious shower, flat-screen TV with a multimedia dock, bigger luggage storage area and full-length mirror.

Public areas have also been redesigned by Priestman Goode, with a brighter and more inviting reception area and breakfast room.

Etap now has 34,000 rooms across its 400 hotels in 10 countries in Europe, with 16 in the UK. Half of the properties are operated under franchise agreements.

Accor plan to expand the Etap brand to more than 500 hotels and 45,000 rooms in around 20 countries by 2011.
