AccorHotels' HotelInvest division to open five hotels

The company will invest £160m in the development of the properties, including the 313-bedroom, 39-storey Novotel, due to open in January 2017.

The other properties are a 120-bedroom Ibis styles in Ealing, west London, which will open in June 2016; a 231-bedroom Ibis in Cambridge (September 2016), 146-bedroom Adagio in Edinburgh (January 2017) and a 196-bedroom Ibis in Canning Town, east London (September 2017).

The openings will boost HotelInvest's UK portfolio to 102 properties.

Hervé Deligny, chief operating officer of HotelInvest, UK, said that AccorHotels has spent a couple of years restructuring its portfolio since the announcement to split its business into HotelServices, a hotel operating and franchisor business, and HotelInvest.

"Whilst focusing on the asset management of our hotels, we continued working on development opportunities and are adding great hotels in exceptional locations to our portfolio.

"We remain focused on seeking additional growth opportunities and we are very much in the market to buy more hotels in the UK."

AccorHotels' total portfolio comprises 3,900 properties across 14 brands including Sofitel, Pullman, Mercure, Novotel, Ibis and Adagio.
