Accor's Etap hotel brand wins Hotel Marketing Association award

Etap, Hilton, Holiday Inn and De Vere, all scooped awards in this year's Hotel Marketing Association's awards, which took place today at London's Millennium Mayfair Hotel.

Budget chain Etap Hotels, which is owned by French company Accor, won best fully integrated marketing campaign.

Hilton won the award for best leisure marketing activity for the second year running for their Tutankhamun exhibition partnership campaign.

Best innovation in marketing went to Intercontinental Hotels Group (IHG) for an interactive customer campaign for Holiday Inn, while best marketing activity on a small budget went to De Vere Venues for their cinema promotion.

Awards were also given to Rothay Garden hotel in the Lake District for the best hotel brochure category and for De Vere Venues in the category of best digital marketing activity.

Donna Skuse, marketing manager of 47 Park Street, in London's Mayfair was named the industry's Young Marketer of the Year 2008.

Chairman of the HMA Pamela Carvell said: "As budgets become increasingly squeezed it's good to see some very innovative marketing out there."
