Ace the 6ft tall fibreglass gorilla returned to Soho's Karma Sanctum hotel

Ace, the 6ft-tall fibreglass gorilla, stolen from the roof of the Karma Sanctum hotel in Soho has been returned to its rightful place after being found on a nearby rooftop.

Two thieves in high-vis jackets are believed to have unbolted the 160kg primate from the hotel's roof on Monday 5 November.

But, it appears the thieves did not get too far and the hotel is set to celebrate the return of Ace, inviting members and guests to party with the primate.

The 30-bedroom hotel tweeted: "Ace the Gorilla is back! Join us for our celebration party on 4th December from 6.30pm onwards, to toast to Ace's safe return following our widespread media appeal."
