Ambition To become a general manager and see my team develop and enjoy their careers

Lucy Gregory graduated from Sheffield Hallam in 2005, having been named "Best Final Year Strategic Management Student", and joined the team at Jurys Inn, Southampton as a graduate manager. Lucy quickly progressed, moving to front of house manager at the Bristol Hotel by 2007 and scooping the Front of House Team of the Year award from the Bristol Hoteliers Association.

In 2009, she became assistant front of house manager - and swiftly front office manager - at London's Park Plaza County Hall, with a team of 35.

She joined Flemings hotel in Mayfair as front office manager in 2010. Here, she has been given increasing responsibility, culminating recently with promotion to rooms division manager, overseeing 40 staff across front office, concierge, guest services and housekeeping and taking responsibility for the sales, profit, people and customer objectives within the department.
