Adam Reid named head chef at the French by Simon Rogan
Adam Reid has been named head chef at the French by Simon Rogan, the fine-dining restaurant at Manchester's Midland Hotel.
He joins with experience gained as senior sous chef at Brockencote Hall in Worcestershire, as well as the Michelin-starred Chester Grosvenor hotel. He has been in the industry for nearly ten years, having started his career at Bridgewater Hall in Manchester.
Reid's role will be to work closely with the two-Michelin-starred chef of L'Enclume, Cumbria, which scored a full 10/10 the Good Food Guide 2013.
Commenting on his new appointment, Reid said: "I feel really honoured to be working alongside someone like Simon. I grew up in Manchester so I have always loved the city, and I'm delighted to be part of one if it's most iconic restaurants.
"Simon has a very unique style, and I was really lucky to spend a considerable amount of my training at L'Enclume, where we worked together on the menu. With Simon's guidance, I want to continue his great work with the support of a strong chef brigade here at the Midland."
Joining Reid as restaurant manager is Kamila Plonska, who previously spent three years as assistant restaurant manager at L'Enclume. Originally from Poland, Plonska has worked at a number of top restaurants in in Denmark and Sweden.
She said: "When Simon offered me the opportunity to move to Manchester and manage the French, I didn't think twice about accepting. My job heading up the front-of-house team is to ensure guests enjoy a high level of service and attention which cannot be found in any other restaurant in the city."
The French by Simon Rogan opened at the QHotels property this week.
