Amanda Scott to leave Waldorf Hilton

Amanda Scott, general manager at London's Waldorf Hilton hotel, is to leave after five years in the role.

Scott, who oversaw the £35m refurbishment and repositioning of the hotel which was previously a Meridien branded property, said that although she remained on good terms with Hilton, it was now time for a change.

She told Caterer and Hotelkeeper: "I'm looking to take some time off, to take stock and then consider my various options. I will stay in the industry though, hotels are my passion and I love London, but the great jobs don't grow on trees.

• Hilton Hotels Corporation has angered UK MPs after announcing a ban on Cuban delegations, which could also extend to its London properties, as part of the US historic embargo of Cuba.
