Andrew McKenzie is new chairman of the Master Innholders
Andrew McKenzie, managing director of two Michelin-starred restaurant Vineyard at Stockcross, has been elected as the new chairman of the Master Innholders.
He takes over from Richard Ball, managing director of Calcot Manor, who has chaired the Master Innholders for the last two years.
As managing director of The Peter Michael Collection, McKenzie also presides over the Donnington Valley Hotel and Spa and the Donnington Valley Golf Club, which incorporates the WinePress restaurant.
"The hospitality industry is a wonderful career choice and the Master Innholders represents everything that is great about it, particularly promoting best practice and management development," he said.
"I am both proud and excited to being elected chairman and I look forward to promoting these ideals over the next two years"
McKenzie previously worked for De Vere, InterContinental and Thistle hotels and spent eight years with Shire Hotels, managing three of their hotels.
The Master Innholders organises the annual General Managers' Conference in London, which takes place next 21-22 January at the Jumeirah Carlton Tower.
Its theme will be Shaping our Future, exploring the challenges facing the industry in the next decade.
There are about 100 Master Innholders, all of whom are, or have been, prominent hoteliers.
