Anouska Hempel oversees design of revamped Franklin Hotel
London's 35-bedroom Franklin Hotel, which has been closed for over a year, will reopen in August following a £8m transformation by designer Anouska Hempel.
Starhotels is headed by president and chief executive Elisabetta Fabri, who personally oversees the operation of each property. All three of the group's London hotels form part of the company's eight most luxurious properties under its Collezione banner.
The Franklin's new opulent interior from Hempel - the founder of Blakes and the Hempel Hotels - will feature mirrored furniture and velvet and silk fabrics, many of which have been sourced from Italy.
The hotel, located in Egerton Gardens in Knightsbridge, will feature an Italian restaurant headed by chef Alfredo Russo, a Champagne and Martini bar, hamman and gym.
The general manager of the hotel is Francesco Roccato, who has joined Starhotels from the Lungarno Collection.
Guests will be able to book rooms from £360 per night from August. An official launch party will take place in October.
