Apex Hotels acquires first Glasgow property
Apex Hotels is to continue its ongoing expansion following the acquisition of the 104-bedroom Marks hotel in Glasgow.
With the addition of the Glasgow property, Apex Hotels now has two hotels in development alongside a 177-bedroom new-build hotel in Bath, which will open in 2016. The two hotels will join an existing portfolio of eight hotels: three in London, four in Edinburgh and one in Dundee.
Ian Springford, chairman of Apex Hotels, said: "We have been looking for the right opportunity to expand into Glasgow for some time. In terms of size and location, the Bath Street property is an ideal fit for Apex Hotels and will become a very welcomed addition to our growing portfolio when it opens this summer."
Rossmark Hotels decided to sell the hotel to concentrate on its core property business, Belgate Estates.
