Aquae Sulis owners plan further acquisitions

The owners of the Acquae Sulis hotel in Bath, Sanjoy Roy and Samir Thukral of Bath Hospitality, have revealed plans to purchase more hotels in the near future.

Roy, whose business interests in India include interior design and construction, revealed they hope to acquire four to five hotels to achieve between 75-100 rooms in the next three to five years.

Roy and Thukral acquired the 14-bedroom Edwardian hotel earlier this year off an asking price of £1.45m, the "first significant investment" in what they hope will be a series of acquisitions in the city.

After establishing the business and raising their profile around Bath, the next step will be identifying further business opportunities not just for Bath Hospitality, but also a wider network of investors in India. Roy will also be scouting development opportunities in and around Bath.

He said: "Back in India we were well known businessmen with a high profile. Now, the challenge is to establish ourselves here in Bath. There is clearly a high level of activity and interest in regenerating the city and we believe Bath has a very exciting future. We are determined to be a part of it."
