Arora to open eighth hotel, at London's O2

Arora Hotels is set to open its eighth hotel, at the O2 in London, founder and chief executive Surinder Arora has confirmed.

Speaking at the BHA Summit yesterday, Arora (pictured) said that the 452-bedroom hotel will open in 2015.

The hotel, which will fall under IHG's Crowne Plaza brand, will feature a 3,000m2 ballroom.

Arora already runs seven hotels, including the Sofitel at Heathrow's Terminal 5 as part of a franchise deal.

"We are due to start the project in the next couple of weeks. We are pleased to be working with IHG to operate under the Crown Plaza brand," said Arora.

Arora is said to have bank loans of £500m. He launched the company in 1999 and has since specialised in airport hotels and supplying rooms for cabin crew.
