Around 200 guests evacuated after blaze at Heathrow hotel
Around 200 guests and 120 members of staff were evacuated when a fire broke out in a sauna at the Radisson Blu Edwardian Heathrow hotel yesterday.
Eight fire engines and around 60 firefighters were called to the 459-bedroom hotel in Hayes, Middlesex, at 4.12pm.
According to London Fire Brigade, a ground-floor sauna and plant room were destroyed by the blaze; there were no reports of any injuries.
Fire crews from Hayes, Feltham, Hillingdon, and surrounding fire stations attended the incident the fire was under control by 6.13pm.
The cause of the fire is under investigation. A spokesperson for the hotel confirmed the property is open today.
A Radisson Blu Edwardian Heathrow hotel spokesperson said: "We can confirm a fire was discovered in the sauna yesterday afternoon. The fire brigade were immediately called and we can confirm that all guests and staff are safe. We will continue to work with the fire brigade whilst they carry out their investigations."
