Ascot racecourse considers hotel development

Ascot racecourse is considering building a hotel to cater for both punters and tourists.

According to http://www.thetimes.co.uk/article/ascot-considers-betting-on-a-hotel-to-attract-year-round-big-spenders-xplgqln7m" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer">The Times, Ascot is considering a number of capital investment projects having revealed strong results.

It is looking into the possibility of building a 150-room hotel open all year round for both racegoers and tourists keen to stay near Windsor Castle.

Ascot chief executive Guy Henderson told The Times: "A hotel would be a game-changer and we are thinking quite carefully about how we would do it.

"This is a fantastic site for events and we have space here. We cannot afford to do it at present. It is something we might do with a partner."
