Ben Taylor is Malmaison's Chef of the Year
Ben Taylor, chef de partie at the Malmaison Livepool, has been named as the boutique hotel brand's Chef of the Year.
The competition, which is open to all chefs at the junior sous level and below across the 12-strong portfolio of hotels, saw six finalists battle it out for the top award.
They each had to create a three-course menu, during which time they were tested on their working methods, professional techniques, culinary skills, hygiene practices, texture and flavouring, timing, presentation and overall menu balance.
The competition was held to help the company identify individuals for its Chef's Development Programme and future promotions.
