Bespoke Hotels launches international business arm
Bespoke Hotels has launched Bespoke Hotels International, a new global business arm, alongside its inaugural partnership with India's Peppermint Hospitality.
Boasting more than 70 properties across the sub-continent, the Peppermint collection joins forces with Bespoke, which now works with 170 hotels worldwide.
The tie-up with Peppermint marks the first major agreement to be struck by Bespoke Hotels International and its newly appointed managing director, Nick Turner, having joined the company with more than 20 years' experience in the hospitality sector, having previously worked in franchise and brand development. He has worked with Malmaison, Le Meridien, Wyndham, Ramada and Holiday Inn.
Bespoke Hotels International aims to expand the Bespoke portfolio of management contracts, franchise locations and marketing agreements overseas. The group claims it is the largest independent hotel operator in the UK.
Turner said: "I am delighted to be joining Bespoke at such a critical juncture. I have watched with admiration the company's growth over the last decade to become the UK's largest independent hotel group, and I am relishing the challenge of continuing this upward trend."
Arjun Baljee, founder and director of Peppermint Hospitality, added: "We are delighted to be partnering with Bespoke at a time when both our businesses are growing in stature and ambition. I look forward to working closely with Nick and the Bespoke team, as well as infusing our portfolio with a dash of British charm. This will help us create the world's first global aggregator of boutique hotels across geographies under one brand."
Robin Sheppard, chairman of Bespoke Hotels, added "We welcome Nick at a time when we are seeking to explore possibilities beyond the British Isles. His expertise in key foreign markets has already born fruit in India, and we expect this to continue as both Bespoke Hotels and the Gotham brand look to expand."
