Best Western GB hires new brand director and head of communications
Best Western GB has appointed Christine Jones as its new brand director. Jones joins the consortium of 277 independent hotels from Macdonald Hotels and Resorts.
In her new role, Jones will be responsible for growing the portfolio of hotels, with a particular focus on the group's recently created Plus and Premier offering.
Meanwhile, Kate Auld has been appointed the company's new head of communications at the company and will be responsible for public relations, social media and internal communications to member hotels. She previously worked at Welcome to Yorkshire, where she co-ordinated Yorkshire's London 2012 campaign.
Best Western's chief executive Richard Lewis, said that Jones' role will be to encourage new business from hotels which may not have previously considered Best Western, at "a time when interest in the brand is high, yet the cost of doing business with us is comparably low, at 9.56%".
Regarding Auld's appointment, Lewis said: "Communications is one of the cornerstones of my focus as chief executive of Best Western GB, alongside people and technology. The intent is for us to reach all our publics to share some of the great stories within Best Western and Kate's appointment puts us in a great position to maximise that opportunity."
Best Western GB is part of Best Western International, which has 4,100 hotels worldwide.
