Bicester Heritage hotel given green light

The green light has been given for a hotel at Bicester Heritage, a former 1920s RAF base dedicated to showcasing classic automobiles and aeroplanes.

Cherwell District Council unanimously approved plans to build a 252-bedroom luxury hotel and 92-bedroom aparthotel at the site.

Designed by Dexter Moren Associates, the five-storey building is described as "a modern interpretation" of aircraft hangars, with an entrance atrium featuring a display of classic cars. The hotel will also feature a restaurant and conferencing and leisure facilities, including a swimming pool.

Development is expected to commence in late summer 2019.
