Bird Hospitality launches first hotel management contract at London's Royal Park hotel
Indian company Bird Group has launched a new hotel management company, Bird Hospitality, with a view to taking over the operation of hotels throughout the UK and Europe.
Bird Hospitality's first management contract is for the four-star, 48-bedroom Royal Park hotel, London, which the Bird Group bought a year ago. Until now the hotel has been managed by US-based Interstate Hotels and Resorts.
The new company has been launched by the Bird Group in conjunction with Lina Stahl, former director of operations and sales at Interstate, and Ravi Birdy, Interstate's former regional director of finance.
Stahl said that Bird Hospitality would offer a bespoke management service to hotels of up to around 250 bedrooms. "We are flexible and will create tailored services to suit each individual client, whether it's a new development or an existing hotel," she explained. "The company has not put a limit on how many clients we want to work with this year, but instead hope our flexibility and experience will help many hotels in 2012 throughout UK and Europe."
