Blackpool hotel damaged by fire

A Blackpool hotel has been severely damaged by fire after a blaze ripped through the property on Sunday.

Around 75 firefighters were called to tackle the flames at the Astoria hotel on Albert Road.

Five floors of the hotel were affected but no-one was hurt.

However a dog belonging to the owners of the hotel was reported to have been killed, according to the Blackpool Gazette.

A total of 14 fire engines attended the scene.
