Brewer Marston's reveals plans for hotel, pub and restaurant in Arbroath

Brewer and pub operator Marston's has revealed plans to build a hotel, pub and restaurant in Arbroath, Scotland.

Planning permission is being sought from Angus Council for the 24-bedroom budget hotel.

If approval is granted it will be built on the site of the former Seaforth hotel, which was destroyed in a fire more than a decade ago.

The seafront site in Dundee Road has been empty since the blaze.

Marston's plans to build a 150-cover pub and restaurant within the hotel complex.

A Marston's Estates spokesperson said: "We are excited about the potential opportunity to develop here in Arbroath and look forward to hearing the outcome of this application in early spring."
