Bristol Hoteliers Association appoint Doubletree by Hilton GM Nadine Rees as chair

The Bristol Hoteliers Association has appointed Nadine Rees, general manager at Doubletree by Hilton Bristol North, as the body's chair.

Over the course of her career, Rees has amassed 11 years of experience with Hilton, and has five years' experience as a general manager.

She takes over the role from Imran Ali, former general manager of Radisson Blu, Bristol, who has moved to another of the firm's sites in Birmingham.

Her appointment makes her the first female chair of the association, which represents 34 hotels in the city, since it was re-established in January 2017.

She said: "I am a passionate hotelier and I am delighted to have the opportunity to build upon the great work of the previous chairman, Imran and to platform the association to support our fantastic vibrant city.

"I am also pleased and honoured to be the first female chair of the association as this is a sign of changing times within the hospitality industry.

"2019 will be an exciting year again for Bristol with well-established music concerts, global sporting events and our excellent annual city events such as the International Balloon Fiesta, Grill Stock to name a few.

"With the very real prospect of a new arena, the city looks set to attract world-renowned artists and sporting events which will only further benefit our great city."
