BT Sport launches enhanced football packages for hoteliers

BT Sport has introduced a new package for hotels and commercial premises to show up to 223 UEFA Champions League and UEFA Europa League matches live.

The BT Sport Total Pack includes live matches on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday nights across BT Sport channels.

It said that a 60-bed hotel would pay £193 a month for the new package, while existing independent hotel customers would receive a 15% loyalty discount. The cost of showing BT Sport in guest rooms will remain £3 per room per month.

Those who only want to show BT Sport 1 content such as Barclays Premier League football will see a price reduction of 7%.

BT Sport commercial customers director Bruce Cuthbert said: "Next season will mark a big change for hotel customers who want to maximise F&B spend from guests staying midweek by showing the really big UEFA Champions League and UEFA Europa League clashes, especially as none of those games will be on ITV or Sky Sports.

"We will now offer more than double the number of games involving Premier League clubs. Up to 223 UEFA Champions League and UEFA Europa League matches means 49 more midweek match nights on BT Sport for commercial premises. At an average cost of £166 per match night for our customers this represents fantastic value for money and a great way to drive incremental guest spend."

BT Sport's UEFA Champions League coverage will be fronted by Gary Lineker, Jake Humphrey and Rio Ferdinand alongside pundits including Michael Owen, Steven Gerrard, Harry Redknapp and Howard Webb.
