Café Royal appoints sales manager

Café Royal, London - a hotel of the Set - has appointed Abhishek Shankar to the role of sales manager as the hotel continues to expand its senior team.

Shankar has previously worked as sales manager at Brown's hotel and associate manager of travel trade and business development at the Leading Hotels of the World.

In his new role, at the 160-bedroom hotel, he will be responsible for maximising revenue from MICE (meetings, incentives, conferencing and exhibitions) business in the UK.

Shankar has also previously worked abroad with De L'Europe Amsterdam hotel, another member of the Leading Hotels of The World, and Island Shangri-La in Hong Kong.

Last month Café Royal announced the appointment of Thomas Kochs as the hotel's first managing director.
