Cheltenham's Ellenborough Park awarded five AA stars
The 62-bedroom Ellenborough Park hotel, which opened in Cheltenham a year ago, has just been awarded five stars by the AA.
Situated in a 16th-century manor house, overlooking Cheltenham racecourse, the hotel is operated by the Mantis Group. It is the first hotel in Gloucestershire to be rated with five AA stars and just one of 13 country house hotels with the grading in the UK.
General manager Graham Vass said that the five-star accolade had created a great sense of achievement and pride among the hotel's staff.
"It is a great testament to our initial recruitment, good training, and strong ethos of service ethic.
"We have had a very good first year, with high ratings in TripAdvisor, winning gold in the hotel of the year category at the Cotswold Tourism Awards 2012 and great comments in the visitors' book. There really is nothing like success to motivate staff."
Vass is seen here celebrating with executive head chef David Kelman and hotel staff Laura Thomas and Jamie Leese.
