Choice director Stuart Leven to join Thistle Hotels

Stuart Leven will quit his role as sales and marketing director of Choice Hotels Europe on 30 April to join Thistle Hotels.

Leven will take on some of the responsibilities of Thistle's ex sales and marketing director Richard Adler, who was made redundant a couple of weeks ago.

He told CatererSearch he would effectively be group sales and marketing director at Thistle, although his official job title had not yet been set in stone.

"My key remit is to oversee the development of the Thistle and Guoman brands and to oversee the day-to-day running of the sales, marketing, revenue and distribution operations," said Leven.

Leven joined Choice 15 months ago after three years at Moat House Hotels, where he served as UK sales and marketing director.

Before that, he worked at travelselect.com (which was acquired by lastminute.com) and also Dutch airline KLM.

Adler, who is currently exploring a number of options, said of his departure: "There has been a reorganisation of the group, with a new chief executive and a new structure and new people coming in, and my job has been merged with a number of others."
