Choice Hotels Europe to shed management jobs to save £1m in costs
Hotel group Choice Hotels Europe (CHE) is shedding senior management staff in a bid to cut more than £1m in costs.
Executive director Peter Cashman has resigned from the company and Sam Marshall, company secretary announced his retirement.
Both men will leave the group on 30 March and chief financial officer Paul Mitchell will assume the role of joint company secretary "with immediate effect and until further notice".
CHE said the changes were designed to streamline the organisation and make it more responsive to the demands of the markets.
Peter Catesby, chairman, said: "The changes to our organisation that we are working through are necessary in order to align our corporate and regional teams with our hotels, post our exit from large scale franchising in Europe."
Michael Prager will continue as chief executive.
