Christophe Hilty named new hotel manager at 45 Park Lane
The Dorchester Collection has announced that Christophe Hilty will take over as hotel manager for its new five-red-AA-star hotel, 45 Park Lane, from January 2013.
Hilty will replace Marie-Laure Akdag, who oversaw the opening of the hotel in September 2011. Akdag joined Fairmont Hotels & Resorts in September as regional director, sales and marketing, Europe.
He joins the 45-bedroom hotel, which features Wolfgang Puck's CUT at 45 Park Lane restaurant, from One Aldwych, London, where he has been director of hotel operations.
Over a 13 year career Hilty's previous luxury hotel positions have included director of rooms in Seychelles and Park Lane, London, assistant director of rooms in Los Angeles, and front office manager in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Originally from France, he has a business administration degree from the European University in Brussels and is fluent in French, German, English and Italian.
Hilty, who will report to Roland Fasel, general manager of the Dorchester and regional director of the UK, said: "45 Park Lane has made a huge impact on London's hospitality market since it opened last year. I am delighted to be joining such a state-of-the-art property, and a company with the reputation of Dorchester Collection."
