Claire Lawson moves from The Brewery to The Grove
Claire Lawson has joined The Grove in Hertfordshire as commercial director, the five-star hotel has announced.
Lawson joins The Grove after seven years as general manager at conference and event site The Brewery on Chiswell Street in the capital, which was previously owned by Whitbread.
Before this she was general manager of the Birmingham Marriott hotel, a Whitbread franchise at the time, and has also worked as director of sales at Whitbread.
Lawson will be in charge of driving sales at the hotel, which is the base for England's football team before home internationals.
Jane Goodyer, general manager of The Grove, said: "I feel very fortunate to welcome Claire to The Grove, and to this crucial position within the company."
In May Joe Levin, managing director of the Capital Group, joined The Grove as director of food and beverage.
The Brewery estate was earmarked for a GuestInvest hotel after the buy-to-let company, currently in administration, purchased office space on the site in 2006.
The sale of GuestInvest has reportedly been put hold after bids for the company were way below expectations.
