Conwy hoteliers buy Anglesey hotel

Conwy hotelier Douglas Barnett is the new owner of the Carreg Bran hotel in Llanfairpwllgwyngyll on the Isle of Anglesey.

The building, which is located just over the Britannia Bridge in Church Lane, is believed to date back to the 1900s.

It comprises 29 en-suite bedrooms, a purpose-built function room for up to 220 people, and a 50-seat restaurant.

The hotel occupies nearly four acres of grounds with extensive gardens and parking for up to 150 vehicles.

Barnett and his wife have an interest in other hotels in Bangor, Beaumaris and the Conwy Valley.

The Manchester office of Christie + Co sold the hotel for more than £750,000 on behalf of the Worthy family, who acquired the property in 2002.
