Cricklade hotel sold to Ambienza Hotels
Ambienza Hotels has bought the Cricklade hotel and country club](http://www.crickladehotel.co.uk/) for an undisclosed sum.
The 46-bedroom property stands in 30 acres of grounds in Wiltshire.
It will become the third hotel in Ambienza's portfolio, alongside the [Cotswolds88 hotel](http://www.cotswolds88hotel.com/) in Painswick, Gloucestershire, and the [Château de Sanse](http://www.cotswolds88hotel.com/chateau.shtml) in south west France.
Owner Phil Harris said: ""We are extremely pleased to have completed the acquisition of Cricklade Hotel & Country Club. I am confident that the hotel will now go from strength to strength under the new management team."
Neil Scott, group general manger for Ambienza Hotels, said: "We are putting together an extensive programme of improvements for the hotel. Our goal for the hotel is to become one of the best four-star hotels in the region. I am confident that we can achieve this within 18 months. The food and beverage operation will now be under the watchful eye of Lee Scott, group executive head chef, who was recently awarded Cotswolds chef of the year."
Simon Stevens, director at [Christie + Co, ](http://www.christie.com/splash)which brokered the deal, said: "Despite the current challenging climate, quality hotel businesses continue to attract high-levels of interest, with buyers willing to act decisively for the right opportunity. Cricklade Hotel & Country Club was no different, with a deal agreed and completed for this established business within eight weeks."
