Dale MacPhee appointed general manager of London Syon Park

Hilton Worldwide has appointed Dale MacPhee as general manager of London Syon Park, a Waldorf Astoria hotel, which is due to open in late 2010. The hotel is set on the grounds of Syon House, the Duke of Northumberland's country estate in west London.

MacPhee has nearly two decades of experience in the hospitality industry. She was previously general manager at the Trafalgar hotel in London. Prior to that, she held positions including director of business development at London Hilton on Park Lane, cluster director of business development for Hilton Worldwide hotels in Istanbul and director of business development at Hilton Prague. She is a past member of the Stasta Committee and a past executive member of the Trafalgar Square Association.

Simon Vincent, area president of Europe for Hilton Worldwide, said: "Dale's dedication and natural leadership skills are second to none, and her knowledge of the industry, as well as her expertise in business development and strategic planning, will be of tremendous value to this property and our company."

The 137-bedroom hotel, which is seven miles from London, will feature five restaurants and bars continuing the Waldorf Astoria "Art of Dining" legacy and offer a spa.

Former executive chef of Brown's hotel, Lee Streeton, will lead the hotel's unique "landscape cooking" concept, while Erick Kervaon, winner of a Hotel Catey Award in 2009, has been appointed to director of food and beverage.
