Dawnay close to Furlong deal

Dawnay Shore Hotels, the investment vehicle for Dawnay Day and Shore Capital, is in talks to buy the Furlong Hotels group for more than £50m.

It is believed an approach was made several weeks ago and a deal is thought to be imminent.

Furlong's three-strong portfolio includes the 70-bedroom Lygon Arms country house hotel in the Cotswolds, which it bought from the Savoy group two years ago for about £15m.

Furlong also owns the 71-bedroom Billesly Manor hotel in Warwickshire and the 40-bedroom Combe Grove Manor property near Bath.
