De Vere Venues has signed its first franchise agreement - with the Firoka Group - to add Heythrop Park in Oxfordshire to its portfolio of meetings and conference venues.
Set within a 440-acre estate, Heythrop Park is an 18th-century country house which can accommodate up to 250 delegates in a wide range of training and lecture spaces, including a conference theatre. It has a total of 154 bedrooms, including 17 in the original house, a golf course, spa and leisure facilities.
The addition of Heythrop Park takes the portfolio of De Vere Venues, which hosts two million delegates and 90,000 meetings each year, up to 38 properties.
Darren Patt, managing director, development, at De Vere Venues, said: "Heythrop Park is a fantastic addition to the De Vere Venues portfolio, offering state-of-the-art conferencing facilities in a great location. This further supports our commitment and growth strategy for De Vere Venues, with many more exciting franchise opportunities in the pipeline."
Heythorp Park sits alongside the 197-bedroom Crowne Plaza at Heythrop Park Resort, which opened in in 2010 following a £50m investment from Firoz Kassam, the owner and chairman of the Firoka Group.
