Dean Winter and Willem van Emden join Swire's Upper House in Hong Kong
Swire Hotels has appointed Dean Winter general manager of the Upper House, Hong Kong, which opens in October.
Previously, Winter managed the launch of Swire Hotels, overseeing pre-opening preparations for the Opposite House, which opened in Beijing in 2008, along with new properties the Upper House and EAST, which opens next year in Taikoo Shing, Hong Kong.
He has more than 20 years of senior management experience in London, Hong Kong and Singapore and was previously executive assistant manager at the Mandarin Oriental Hong Kong, responsible for overseeing the hotel's renovation before it reopened in 2006.
Willem van Emden joins the team as restaurant director from a previous role as restaurant manager of Sureño at Swire's first hotel, the Opposite House. Lee Tak Sum has been named executive chef, overseeing Café Gray Deluxe.
