Doubletree by Hilton adds three hotels to UK portfolio

Three hotels in Cambridge, Stratford upon Avon and Glasgow have now officially joined Doubletree by Hilton, taking the upscale brand in the UK up to 47 properties.

Located on the edge of the university city in Cambourne, the 120-bedroom Cambridge hotel features the Bridge restaurant and bar. The 102-bedroom Stratford upon Avon property is located 10 minutes' walk from William Shakespeare's birthplace and offers modern British restaurant Quills, while the 148-bedroom Glasgow hotel has the choice of two restaurants - Flemings offering European cooking and the Grill & Bar for a more informal occasion.

Andreas Lackner, regional head, full service brand management, Hilton, said: "As we open the doors to three great hotels, we add a milestone to our DoubleTree by Hilton UK growth story."

Gary Jones, chief operating officer at Aprirose, added: "Our working relationship with Hilton goes from strength to strength and will continue thanks to further upcoming openings, including DoubleTree in Oxford and the DoubleTree in Forest Pines (Yorkshire). These hotels are upscale, full-service properties, and we look forward to welcoming visitors from close to home and further afield."

One of 14 Hilton brand's, Doubletree by Hilton numbers 535 hotels with more than 127,000 rooms worldwide.

Aprirose's property investments in the hosptialtiy sector includes the 26-strong QHotels portfolio, which it acquired for £525m in 2017, and 73 pubs, also bought last year from Mitchells & Butler and since renamed Milton Pubs & Taverns.
