DoubleTree by Hilton increases UK portfolio

A 146-bedroom DoubleTree by Hilton is to open in Kingston upon Thames, Surrey, in 2016, following a multi-million pound investment.

The new build hotel will be asset managed by EQ Hotels and operated under a franchise agreement with Hilton Worldwide by the UK division of Interstate Europe Hotels & Resorts.

Patrick Fitzgibbon, senior vice president, development, Europe & Africa, Hilton Worldwide said, "Our fastest growing full service brand has added Chelsea, Islington and Docklands to its roster of top locations in the capital in the last 12 months. DoubleTree by Hilton London - Kingston upon Thames joins nearly 30 hotels under the brand across the UK. The hotel will form a major component of a new mixed-use scheme, responding to the diverse needs of visitors to the borough."

Located by the River Thames, opposite the Bentall Shopping Centre, the hotel will include a restaurant and bar as well as conference and meeting rooms.

The Liverpool hotel also features former-Michelin-starred chef Jean-Christophe Novelli's only UK restaurant. The 130-seater Jean-Christophe at Michelle Brasserie offers a French brasserie style menu and will also serve the lounge, conference rooms and banqueting areas at the hotel.
