Doubletree by Hilton to open in Liverpool
The DoubleTree by Hilton brand continues its rapid UK expansion with the announcement that an 87-bedroom hotel will open in Liverpool next summer.
Sanguine Hospitality will manage the Grade II-listed property on the corner of Sir Thomas and Dale Street on behalf of the owner, Municipal Annex.
The contemporary upscale brand - which presents every guest with a choclate chip cookie at check-in - will retain the grandeur of the building, dating from 1865, and feature a restaurant, executive lounge, spa and swimming pool.
It will be the third DoubleTree by Hilton to be operated by Sanguine Hospitality alongside hotels in Bristol and Chester.
Rob Palleschi, global head, DoubleTree by Hilton, said, "DoubleTree by Hilton is looking forward to welcoming this neighbourhood gem to our growing portfolio in the UK, which currently features 17 open hotels."
Marwan Koukash, the mastermind behind the regeneration of the former Municipal Annex, said, "Delivering an architecturally significant building of the standard of DoubleTree by Hilton for Liverpool has been many years in the making. It has been crucial to find the right partners to deliver my vision for a world-class destination hotel and venue for the city and I am delighted we have agreed management terms with Sanguine Hospitality.
DoubleTree by Hilton now has more than 300 hotels in 24 countries worldwide, including 60 which are open or under development in Europe. It is one of 10 brands operated by Hilton Worldwide.
