EasyCruise boss quits role after less than nine months

Gwyn Jones has quit as chief executive of EasyCruise after the company announced plans to relocate its head office.

Jones, who was managing director of P&O Cruises until its demerger from P&O Group in 2000, only joined the start-up cruise company in May.

He said EasyCruise's decision to relocate its centre of operations from Monaco to Athens next year made it an opportune time to hand over to a Greek management team.

Recently appointed finance director Stelios Panagiotou will head up the Athens office until a general manager can be appointed.

The EasyCrusieOne liner will be based in Greece from the summer of 2007.

EasyCruise will continue to have a marketing company based in the UK headed by Paul Ellerby.
