EasyHotel announces 145-bed development pegged for Bristol site

EasyHotel has announced it will look to develop a new 145-bedroom location in Bristol as the budget hotel company seeks planning permission for the freehold site.

The hotel would be placed just 0.5 miles from Bristol Temple Meads on West Street, opposite Cabot Circus. The development is slated to launch in 2020.

It comes as the firm also announced that it has received planning permission for an Oxford site, moving EasyHotel closer to adding the 180-room building to its portfolio.

The new Oxford development has a 25-year lease and is also expected to launch in 2020.

Guy Parsons, chief executive of EasyHotel, said: "Our investment in Bristol, the fifth since our fundraising in March, marks the latest addition to our fast-growing portfolio of comfortable, stylish and highly affordable hotels in key tourist and business locations. The group is also pleased to confirm that planning approval for the new EasyHotel Oxford has been granted. Construction work is anticipated to start in the new year.

"The group continues to review a large number of investment opportunities in both the UK and Europe and we look forward to announcing further developments in due course."
