easyHotel appoints former Accor executive as chief financial officer
Budget hotel operator easyHotel has appointed Marc Vieilledent chief financial officer.
He joins the 20-strong hotel group from Accor, where he was executive vice-president of asset management until 2013.
In his role at Accor, Vieilledent was responsible for strategy, real estate and mergers and acquisitions. Prior to that he was senior vice-president in charge of corporate finance and real estate at the hotel giant.
When easyHotel reported revenue growth of 34% to £3.5m at the end of 2014 after its first year as a listed company chief executive Simon Champion said that the group was looking towards expansion.
"EasyHotel is a strong brand with international recognition," he added. "Our expansion plans are taking shape and we are confident that we can secure owned properties for conversion in key European gateway cities, as well as expand the franchised estate."
Commenting on Vieilledent's appointment chairman Jan Astrand said: "Marc brings not just a strong hotel background, but also extensive experience in property.
"He also adds international operating experience, which combines well with our international brand and will help with the rollout of more easyHotels internationally, as well as in the UK."
