EasyHotel gains planning permission for Liverpool hotel

Budget hotel group easyHotel has been granted planning permission for a 77-bedroom hotel in Liverpool.

The site, on Castle Street in the city, was previously office space.

EasyHotel said it expected to open the hotel in the 2016/2017 financial year after a £3m conversion.

Speaking earlier this month, new chief executive Guy Parsons (pictured) said the focus of the business would be on acquiring conversions and new build sites that are in close proximity to good transport links. The Liverpool site would fit the bill in this regard.

He added that he was planning to introduce a new "fresher and more contemporary" design to both bedrooms and public areas, and also to all future hotel openings.
