El Patron to launch Europe's first Tequila hotel on Isle of Wight

El Patrón, the Mexican bar which opened in London earlier this year, is set to launch the first Tequila hotel in Europe on the Isle of Wight.

The boutique hotel will feature six Mexican-styled rooms, each themed around a different drink from El Patrón's tequila menu. Every room will have its own individual cocktail set for guests to get the full tequila experience.

This will be the second site for the business, following its first venue in London, which opened earlier this year on Upper Richmond Road in Putney. The latest venture will feature a bar and restaurant in addition to the bedrooms.

The Isle of Wight council gave planning permission in September 2011 to convert the former factory into a restaurant and bar, with the upper floors - which were previously occupied by the council - converted into a guesthouse.

The bar's decor will include exposed brick walls, Latino-inspired artwork, a corrugated iron bar and reclaimed material from former warships.

El PatrÁ³n is the brainchild of couple Aiste Bart and Andrew Taylor, who are already planning a third venue, expected to open later this year.
