Entries open for Barnett prize
Springboard has launched its annual Olive Barnett award in search of the most promising young person working in a customer-facing role.
The competition is designed to reward committed, customer-facing workers under the age of 30 in the hospitality, leisure and tourism sectors.
Up for grabs is a place at the prestigious Ecole Htelire de Lausanne's summer 2006 hospitality management programme, as well as 3,000 of career development funding.
The award is judged in two stages - a 500-word essay and a personal presentation of each finalist's career aspirations.
The winner and two runners-up will be announced at a special event to be held on 15 May at Claridge's hotel, London.
Applicants must be under the age of 30 on 15 May 2006. Closing date for entries is 24 March, and full details and an entry form can be found at www.springboarduk.org.uk.
