Etrop Grange sold to Squire Hotels

The four-star, 64 -bedroom Etrop Grange hotel, near Manchester Airport, is to undergo major improvements after being acquired by newly formed company, Squire Hotels.

Located in a Grade II-listed Georgian property, dating from 1780, the building was transformed from a private residence into a restaurant in 1985. It later opened as a hotel following a £3m refurbishment.

Squire Hotels, formed last year by Chris Eddlestone, a partner at real estate legal practice Squire Sanders, intends to raise the profile and performance of Etrop Grange.

Squire Hotels has on-going plans for expansion having acquired the 78-bedroom Preston Swallow hotel in Lancashire, April.
