Europe's first Radisson Red hotel to be built in Glasgow

Located adjacent to the Scottish Exhibition and Conference Centre, the 176-bedroom Radisson Red Hotel Glasgow will be the first new build hotel for the brand in Europe.

It will join two other Carlon Rezidor hotels in Glasgow: a Radisson Blu and a Park Inn by Radisson.

At the launch of Radisson Red in February, Carlson Rezidor said that it intended to create a global brand of 60 hotels by 2020. The Glasgow property will be the third hotel to be signed alongside properties in Shenyang Hunan, China, and Cape Town, South Africa.

Wolfgang Neumann, president and chief executive of Rezidor, said: "Glasgow is one of the strongest markets in the UK, and Radisson Red will add a vibrant new concept to the city's hospitality sector. Inspired by the millennial lifestyle trends, the brand addresses the highly connected and design-savvy world traveller."

The Glasgow hotel, which will be operated by the Rezidor Hotel Group, will comprise the Redeli restaurant and Oui bar; more than 100 sq m of meeting space; and a gym.

Radisson Red is one of seven brands operated across 1,350 hotels worldwide by Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group alongside the Quorvus Collection, Radisson Blu, Radisson, Park Plaza, Park Inn by Radisson and Country Inns & Suites By Carlson. Only Quorvus, Radisson Blu and Park Inn by Radisson operate currently in the UK.
